Tea at Grandma Dottie's

Sorry for the blurry pictures. Our camera's flash is being stubborn these days. I was trying to hold very still.

Dancing in the Glow of the Afternoon Light

I was making dinner, and Daniel was off in some remote place via his imagination. I checked in on him. He was spinning circles with an airplane he had built out of Legos. He looked like he was dancing. The way the sun came in through our back window and glistened through his curls, made him look like an angel. I wanted to stop time. I had to stop dinner and dance with him for a moment...just to savor it a little more.

Chicken Soup for the Soul

We've been a little cooped up here due to illness. It has been driving me crazy. So today we headed out for some real medicine...good 'ol sunshine and a whoopie pie...and the Aquarium in between. Tomorrow is looking better.

Potty Matters

Daniel is usually pretty regular...bowel-wise that is. Lately though, there has been stretches of days between movements. I finally cornered him the other night about the issue. It turns out he doesn't want to sit on a cold toilet seat. Can I blame him? I hate that too.

A Baking Secret

I recently spent a week with a friend (hence the sparse posts). I'm going to let you in on her little baking secret.

And the secret is...six porcelain tiles placed on the rack. She cooks everything on them (just places the pan on top). It is like having your own brick oven. I bought my tiles today. $.88 a pop. Now the question is what to make first...fresh bread sounds good.

Sick Day #7: Valentine Cookies

We are still recovering from whatever hit us last week. I hope we are better tomorrow. I can't think of anything else to do. Today we decided to make some real medicine.

Making/cleaning up the dough
He is wearing my apron...darling
All the clothes he was wearing today went in the laundry anyways...apron or no apron, they always all go in the laundry.

Now that's a SUGAR cookie

Enjoying the fruits of our labors...as hopefully the rest of our friends and neighbors we delivered them to. We even surprised Dad at work with a plate.

Will you be our Valentine?
