Sunshine and Summer Bounty

 This is my berry boy.
He would pick berries over ice cream if he had to choose between them...
...but prefers both.

 This is my lovely assistant.
She held the bucket so...

...this one couldn't mush them with his little fingers.

Farm fresh ice cream...the cherry on top of our summer outing.

It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This

It doesn't get much better than watching this...

Your kids discover produce in the garden, pick it, and eat it right there.
The garden reminds them of water.
So they turn on the sprinkler.
They are too excited to take the time to change into their swim suit so they run through the water in their 3rd outfit of the day.
As they are laughing in the water, they get distracted from the splash of sprinkler by a butterfly that flew past.
They chase the butterfly all over the yard and catch it.
They smile proudly as they show me the butterfly they caught, then start chasing it again as it gets away.
And as they chase the butterfly, they run past the sprinkler, which reminds them it is really fun to let it splash in your face.
So they forget the butterfly and go back to the sprinkler...in their face.

That is what I watched out my back window as I cleaned up dinner tonight.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Last Vacation Post

 We hiked to Timp Cave.

It was HOTT.
We didn't start hiking until 2pm.

Cabub enjoyed some rocks

We saw the airplanes at Hill Air Force Base.

Cabub enjoyed some more rocks.

We stopped in Provo for some BYU brainwashing.
We ate ice cream.

 Cabub ate the cone.

 We rode horses.
I didn't give Cabub a chance to eat anything here.

The Summer House

Can you guess where we are standing?
I'll give you a hint...
It is usually covered in 2 feet of snow.

Instead of worrying about sun burnt knees as we ride on these,
we usually bury our faces in our coats and endure the ride.

We usually come down on two skis and not slides.

Instead of smore's for a mid afternoon treat,
we are sipping hot cocoa.

 Did you guess Park City?

It was just lovely.
The hikes, the swimming, the company...the whole thing.

These Make Me Laugh

4th of July

You are laying eyes on a family of Patriots.
I bet every kid in this group can recite the Preamble to the Constitution.
The 4th of July is better when you spend it with Champions of Liberty.

A German (the only un-American thing) breakfast after a dip in the pool.
Followed by...

 this,

 and this,

 and this,

 and this.

Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa's to pursue some more

 life,

 liberty,

 and happiness.

I love America.
