 This summer, we lived at the pool.

Like we do every summer.

 But if we weren't at the pool,

 We sought out other sources of water

(I thought my kids were going to get giardia from this).

Just trying to stay cool.

We are feasting.

All this grew from a few little seeds!

Movie Night

Wednesday Night's Feature:

The General

A silent comedy film.

But there was plenty of noise from the crowd

"Boooo"

"Ahhhhhh"

"Hissss"

and

"Hip Hip Hooray"

were a few of the crowd's words of choice for the evening,

along with the sound of munching popcorn, laughter, crickets, and mosquitos.

Kayaking the Concord

 This picture makes me laugh.

First of all, look at the weight distribution in our kayak.

With that angle in the front, it looks like we were cruising,

but we were doing anything but cruising.

Let me describe what was really happening here.

8 kids 10 years old and younger

2 naive moms

4 kayaks (2 of which ping ponged the river...their captains were a little young)

Lots of goose poop

Some sunbathing turtles

Kids trying to catch fish with a holey net

Dripping wet pants

A couple of paddle smacked heads

Me, like a broken record saying

"Caleb, sit on your bum"

"Caleb, don't put your arm in the water, you will fall"

"Caleb, don't climb out of the boat"

So I strapped him on.

Then we made "progress".

But it was all about the journey and not the destination.

Honestly, I don't even know why I'm smiling in this picture.

I was so scared.

My Mom and I finished painting on a Thursday at 11pm...6 hours before the down pour started.

I would say that was perfect timing.

 Have you ever been on a battleship?

 We went, with Grandma and Grandpa.

 We climbed on and explored the whole thing.
